AI Start-Ups in Germany
Artificial Intelligence is the focus of more and more German startups. For which industries are they developing solutions? For which fields of application in the company? An overview of the current AI startup scene.
Making startups in the field of Artificial Intelligence visible, driving the use of AI and providing opportunities for networking with established companies: With this goal in mind, the appliedAI Institute for Europe publishes an annual overview of the German AI startup landscape - and in 2023, for the first time, a list of the 20 most highly regarded AI startups in Germany.
Background
Together with NVIDIA, Intel, and twelve renowned venture capital firms (Cherry Ventures, Earlybird Capital, UVC Partners, Yttrium, Lakestar, High-Tech Gründerfonds, eCAPITAL, La Famiglia, Asgard, Burda Principal Investments, HV Capital, and Born2Grow), the appliedAI Institute for Europe has analyzed more than 1,000 AI startups that were founded in Germany or have their headquarters there since 2013 and whose primary business model is based on AI.
The content clustering describes the fields of application of the developed AI solutions in companies and was developed from the perspective of companies that want to use AI:
- Enterprise Function: Increase productivity on existing tasks by supporting workers with AI-based tools.
- Enterprise Intelligence: Exploit data sources that were previously too difficult or expensive to analyze.
- Technology Type: Developing software solutions using machine learning to ensure competitive advantage.
- Industries: Collaboration with startups that offer industry-specific products and services based on machine learning.
